Okay, Everyone...

Let's start talking about and getting excited about Cornerstone.

Who are the top bands you're excited about? Top seminars? Top films?

Some of mine (this is a work in progress):

Bands

  • Relient K (I just can't stop)
  • Rue Royale (my latest obsession)
  • Cool Hand Luke (thank you for reuniting!)
  • Leeland (live worship!)
  • Starflyer59 (always fun & creative)
  • Copeland (amazing live)
  • The Myriad (yes)
  • Anberlin (I'm liking Cities)
  • mewithoutYou (Aaron is the closest thing to how I imagine the Old Testiment prophets)
  • David Crowder (a classic...all-out worship)

Seminars

  • ORDINARY RADICALS, Shane Claiborne
  • "WHOLE-ISTIC"CELTIC COMMUNITY, Brad Culver: Refuge Ontario & Peter Wohler: Source Community Minneapolis

Films

  • I Vitelloni Federico Fellini, 1953
  • What Would Jesus Buy? Rob Van Alkemade, 2007

Visual Art

  • Pilgrimage 2007. This year's theme will be "The Names of God."

Your turn...

Lindsay. Corinn. I can't believe you've been blogging, and i totally didn't know. Still haven't heard if you'll be in chicago at all next week. As of now, i'm taking the train up on sunday, and i'll be staying with my friend sharlyn, we have plans of biking through the city. if you get that shnazzy bike of yours workin, you're welcome to come.
I haven't made a decision on cornerstone yet. . . Are we too old to go? There are a few nights where it looks like there will be great shows. have you heard Mewithoutyou's latest album? It's great, and deep, challenging.
I sent Keith an email, and it came back as though his email address didn't exist, that makes me a sad panda.

ok, I finally took a longer look at the schedule (you may never find this comment- it's buried)

Friday night, I'll probably be at Mainstage. I'm excited for Flyleaf- I'm not TOO familiar, but what I've heard I love. Switchfoot got so trendy. I remember the first year they were on mainstage, I was one of seriously 20 people standing near the stage. Then it got played on "secular" radio... I knew that CD was going to be big- I had it over a year before it was on the radio. Not that I'm prideful or anything. ;)

Then mewithoutyou is playing at midnight, which I've heard of and probably heard a little, but would like to actually stand and listen to for real. I think they're hard, but I'll deal.

And hang around the gallery stage. I wish I could see Rue Royale (and TONS others) but I'm only going to concentrate on those with whose schedules I mesh, which unfortunately, are not many.

I don't know why Saturday is the "hard" night. It sucks. I'll see Emery (have I really heard them and think they're ok or am I just getting them twisted in my mind with Hangnail, which I did like??). Unfortunately, other than Norma Jean & Underoath (who I'm not personally hot to trot on) I haven't even heard anyone on Saturday.

I AM SO EXCITED THAT I GET TO SEE AND HEAR SHANE CLAIBORNE!

Also interesting, Sustainable Future, Making Affluence History, Emergent Evangelical Eccle...., I left Rapture Theology Behind, Christians for Biblical Equality.

I only have one day to balance these seminars, seeing Grandma, hanging out, merch tent, random walking and meeting and stopping in on bands and taking in the dust of Cstone. It will be tough...But I'm pumped! I miss you all so much!

O Canada......!

me again... I guess I can go see "I Vielloni" Saturday night. It looks pretty good. Or "Czech Dream" Saturday afternoon. I've got to say no to the anime, though Matt would probably go and geek out on it.

By the way, who all is coming this year? Brandon said you were "pulling a Joel" and bringing a thousand people? Do you remember Glen Sager (that was the year I was there as cardboard)- he's interested in crashing at Hesstopia- let me know where headquarters will be!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :excited squeal: Does Cingular/AT&T get service there? ok, whatever, I'm leaving.
