He has reconciled you.

I've had a good sabbath day.  A nice mix of rest, ministry, & a little homemaking.

I was just reading the chunk of Colossians that we'll be covering tomorrow at church.

And being moved by it.

you were at one time strangers and enemies
in your minds
as expressed

through your evil deeds

but now
but now
but now

he has reconciled you
he
has reconciled
you

by his physical body through death

to present you
to present you

holy,
without blemish,
and blameless
before him

holy,
without blemish,
and blameless
before him

– if indeed you remain in the faith,
established
and firm,

without shifting
from the hope
the hope
of the gospel that you heard.

Simple things; so much power.

Man, let me just say that when I am either (a) tired or (b) dehydrated,
my whole world looks different.

And I think the enemy takes advantage of it.

The cafe's closed this week, but I have a super long list to-do list for myself for the cafe.  I really like working from home.  I get a lot done.  And it feels good to be in my home.  I ate all three meals at home today.  Pretty sure that's the first time that's happened....at least since we moved here.  It makes me think that I could keep managing the cafe if I had a baby.  I wouldn't want to work regular shifts at the cafe behind the counter, but really think I could still manage.  At least for a while.  But who knows what the future holds.

Two things that are definitely in my future are enough sleep & water.

Oh, How He Loves Us.

"All of a sudden I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory."

Wordle.net

We're hanging out at Nick & Rachels.  Tonight Rach's sister Bekah got into town for Christmas so we got to meet her for the first time.  She's a school teacher.  She just introduced us to this website, Wordle.net.  You can give it any text from a document or even just a website address and it creates a collage with the words it contains.  The more frequently the word is used, the more prominent it appears in the collage.  I just typed in my blog address, and this is what it gave me:

Wordle: blog

The word want is huge.  Hm.  Interesting.

Recording while recording.

Recording worship songs at Matt's tonight.  I like singing music to God.  I've always felt like Keith and I weren't the most talented musicians, but what we lack in talent we make up for in passion.  I just love it.  I just love God.  And it's such a gift to get to commune with him through creative acts.

I love doing creative stuff more than practical-daily-grind stuff.  Hm.  Balance.

My mom sang a lot around the house when I was growing up & I am so glad she did.  It just seemed normal at the time, but now I realize that it wasn't.  Not everybody's mom sang around the house.  It was a gift.

One of the plethora of songs she sang was Carly Simon's You're So Vain.  "You probably think this song is about you, don't you?  Don't you?"  I'm glad to know that song.

Another prayer.

Father. Sigh. I need you. I need you to transform me. Help me humble myself. Help me.
Cleanse me!
I want to be faithful. I want to humble myself & discipline my flesh. I want to discipline myself to pray. I want to walk in the power of the spirit. I want to walk in the power of the spirit.
I want to find my rest in you. I want to rest in you.
I want to meditate on your word. Meditate on it. I want it to flow out of me.

New computer.

I got a new hp mini netbook, and I'm catching up in the online world. And it's really making some of my tasks at work easier. I'm thankful for it.

So, I should be around here a little more often now. Maybe.

A good word.

1 Corinthians 4:3-5 (New Living Translation)

3 As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. 4 My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.
5 So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.
